-The use of a personal camera phone, or a camera which is handheld is effective. as I believe that it conveys how personal the video is. if the song we choose is at all to do with love or relationships I believe this is an effective way to convey this.
- The fast cutting rate, coupled with the varying bright clips is utilised well and shows the couple as together regularly, as the clips are obviously not on the same day. another way to convey the feelings they have for each other.
-The narrative is unique as well as the camera is taken by other groups of people which is something else we could look into.
- The inspirational feel to this video is uplifting, one of the reasons I like it. the use of peoples real story brings a whole new level to the video. as the people are made to be absent but also present, meaning the repeatability of the video is increased as people want to know more about these peoples stories.
- The use of a pre-music visuals is another feature we could adopt, as it creates an increased build up to the actual music being played.
- The use of protagonists more than the artist creates a greater sense of the audience being adopted into the video.
- The strong narrative makes the video engaging, however the cryptic lines spoken by the man at the beginning make the video difficult to initially understand, meaning the video is repeatable, and engaging. as we want to know what the 'yellow brick road' is.
- The artist repeatedly breaks the fourth wall, meaning the audience is drawn in, and we a forced to engage with the artist, meaning we, as an audience are far more likely to watch the video to the end.
-The artists constant bad luck in the video gives a comical edge, something we could look to explore in our video.
-The narrative fuzz at the end of the video, where we don't know what happened about the leaking, seemingly flammable liquid is used to leave the audience wanting to see more. seeming creating an instant following.
X renagades - I've not seen that video - amazing!
