as we have moved through the process of filming our views on the original digi-pack has changed, not completely, but noticeably.
The most noticeable change is the disk slide of the pack, rather than leaving it blank, perhaps with just a title to decorate it, we have decided that the ash try has become a symbol during our time filming. therefore we have decided to take a shot of a cigarette in the tray from straight above so that the ash tray fills the disk. the use of a cigarette balanced on the ash tray will tie the tray into the digi-pack to insure that it looks like part of it. Rather than just a disk.
During the filming we took a picture of the 'grounded' pill pot surrounded by the scattered pills. the composition of this shot lends it to being ideal for the digi pack. it is also iconography of the era of funk. When drugs were commonplace. This will be the bottom right pane, the first thing you see when opening the digi-pack,
The next change is the shot of the actress's face reflected in the pool, this will be side by side with the shot of the actress's face at the same level. but behind a fire. these shots are binary opositions (fire and water) as well as being iconic shots from the video. the symmetry of the faces in the panes will create a sense of continuity throughout the pack.
The bottles that make up the front and back have also been mirrored, again to promote consistency throughout the digi-pack.
For the bottle shots, front and pack, labels are needed, these have been digitally produced.
This is for the front of the bottle, as well as being the front of the Digi-Pack it will also feature on the poster.
This will be used on the neck of the bottle in order to make the bottle look as authentic as possible. It also creates consistency as it has M R for Mark Ronson on it.
This is the Coaster, minus the terms and conditions on the back. this will be mounted on card and below the bottle as the artists name is displayed.
I also have produced the back label of the bottle/pack this displays the bar code necessary for the album, as well as the track list which has been made to look like a ingredients list to fit in with the beer bottle theme.
