Outline
-This morning we filmed the classroom scene and re-filmed a few of the shots from the final scene.
Successes
-We used a range of equipment today which ensured our shots reach technical excellence. An example is our final shot, where we used a jib to sweep the camera away from the object and end the music video on a scenic long shot.
-Again, we utilised the Steadycam by walking backwards with the actor as she walked towards the camera, filming in 60fps, to achieve an effective slow-motion effect during the classroom scene.
-Furthermore, we used the track during the classroom scene to follow the actor as she runs towards the camera. The track was also used to re-shoot a shot which we previously used a zoom, instead - tracking back looks much more cinematic and professional.
-We successfully re-shot takes which had errors last time, such as below - where two crew members being in the background during first day of filming meant we had to re-film this shot.
-Following audience feedback, we included shallow focus shots where possible, and got some really nice shots.
Failures
-Time was the main constraint today, meaning a few of the shots were not perfect, and time limited re-filming shots more than a few times.
-Secondly, setting up the equipment took up more time than we would have liked. We will avoid this error the next time round as we now know how to set the jib up.
-One disappointment from today was that there were no classrooms to film in, so we had to use the drama studio. This is a weakness in one of our locations, and has taught us that booking out a classroom would have been a better idea.
